Free Pitching in East Sussex and Kent
Looking for a camp site where you can choose your own pitch location, and choose a pitch size suited to your group’s needs? Then Park Farm Camp Grounds here in the beautiful countryside of East Sussex, close to the Kent border, has the answer. We have 180 pitches available all the time, and for short periods we have several fields we can expand into. We can accommodate tents, motor homes, camper vans, and caravans.
Approximately 40 of our pitches provide electric hook up. But these do get taken quickly during the high season so please book early to avoid disappointment.
Mini Camp Shop & Snack Bar
The mini shop and cafe are now closed for the remainder of the 2017 season.
Forgotten some of those small incidentals? We have, on site, one of the better equipped mini camp shops in East Sussex; no need to travel once you are here when you would rather spend the day fishing, or otherwise relaxing. Park Farm Camping ensures these services are available throughout the season. Opening hours may vary during the off season, or quiet periods mid-week.
- Hot food and great coffee available all day
- Locally sourced, especially the ice cream
- Selling those last minute forgotten items, groceries, equipment, souvenirs, games, etc
The outlets are cash only, card payment facilities not available
Camp Kiosk & Reception
Open daily: 10:00am – 11:00pm
Like all quality camp grounds in East Sussex and Kent campers will need to check in on arrival. At the entry to Park Farm Camping is our check in Kiosk. If you are a group arriving separately want to pitch close to each other our friendly staff will endeavour to meet your requirements. We can adjust bookings at the Kiosk and take payment covering the duration of your stay.
The Kiosk staff at the Park Farm Campsite will accept new arrivals starting at 10:00am, but not after 10:00pm.
As a service to our campers the Kiosk will also:
- Charge mobile phones, laptops, tablets
- Re-freeze ice packs
If you requested an electric hook up you will be shown where these are located within our fields. Don’t worry, they are easy to find with our site maps. The campground has over 40 electric hook ups, each with an adequate 10 Amp supply. Please observe that a standard 5 metre electrical lead is unlikely to be suitable. A 25 metre lead is preferred, or two shorter leads.
Toilet and Washing Facilities
Park Farm campers are adequately serviced as follows:
- Hot showers
- Electric razor and hair dryer points are provided
- Washing up sinks
- Chemical disposal point
During the busy summer season we bring in portable toilet units to meet the demand. While these may not be within proximity to your selected pitch, please keep in mind that families are free to choose their own pitch in any open space.
To ensure your hygiene toilet and shower facilities are cleaned regularly, in fact it never stops. However, it sometimes happens that facilities are soiled between cleans, please advise us and like any quality camp site in the East Sussex and Kent region we will attend to it immediately.
Camp Play Areas
If campers do not desire to explore the East Sussex and Kent region all the time, no problem …. The Park Farm campsite offers an excellent venue for families, with a huge amount of space where kids can enjoy a game of football, cricket, or simply to run around. For active children there is an old tractor to climb over, a fitness and balance course to tackle, zip line, wooden play fort, and swings.
- A large field is available for ball games or for flying a kite or frisbee throwing (remember those days?)
- Adventure areas where you can find a climbing frame, tractor, zip line, and mini assault course
- Acres of woodland and grounds for children to play in and explore safely
During the high season we arrange for crazy golf to be set up in the building we call The Old Hop Pickers Cinema. It never was a real cinema of course, although movies were shown in there during the colder, wetter months. The golf can be played by young and old, and the young at heart. Have fun together, after all that’s what we mean by ‘family friendly’ here at Park Farm Campsite.
The Great Outdoors
Looking absolutely stunning is our sea of sunflowers. One of the best displays in the East Sussex and Kent region, and not to be missed. Did you know nature has created the flower heads so perfectly that Fibonacci studied the patterns closely and created from it the mathematical pattern known as the Fibonacci sequence. Come and check out our fields while still in full bloom.
Then, there is the Maize Maze. A whole field grown with corridors of maize waiting to be explored. If you don’t get lost around East Sussex and Kent you will surely get lost in our maze!
When the day is over, the night begins. Up into the night sky, beyond the glow of the open campfire, you will often find the clearest of night skies.
Less than 1 in 10 of the UK population can see the beauty of the night sky full of stars. The High Weald is an area with a much reduced air pollution and great air quality, perfect for searching for planets, stars, meteors, satellites, and even the entire Milky Way. On a clear night, you’ll be able to see thousands of stars.
…and then there are the Barn Owls often seeing hunting along the river banks.
Camp Site Security
The Camp Site boasts onsite wardens and extra security at night. Their job is to ensure campers follow the Camp Ground Rules.
The grounds are monitored by CCTV.
Unruly behaviour will be dealt with to ensure your stay is enjoyable, and desirable to return in the future.
This is what you would expect of a quality campsite at any camping ground in East Sussex and Kent. At Park Farm Caravan and Camping we have a duty to make sure your stay is enjoyable.
Do you really want to take all that camping equipment home? Thought not! Well, here at Park Farm we offer 3 different sizes of dry and secure wooden storage boxes for hire on a monthly basis as follows:
