FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Below are some frequently asked questions (Click on a question to reveal the answer). If you have a question that has not been answered please use the Contact Form to get in touch and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Do I need to book?
You don’t have to book, however we do recommend booking in advance to give the management team and idea of numbers so that the appropriate services and facilities can be provided. You must book in advance if you require an electric hook-up. This lets us confirm your booking and send out important and useful information. If you don’t require an electric hook-up then you can simply turn up after 10am on your chosen day of arrival.
How busy are you?
It’s hard to accurately predict how busy we might be. It depends on a few factors such as the weather and time of year. We tend to be pretty busy during the school summer break, bank holidays and at weekends. We are usually at our quietest on weekdays. We are one of the largest campsites in East Sussex with plenty of open space, which means we always have room. However, do note that our electric hook up pitches can and often do get busy so why not book in advance to ensure yours is available.
Can I have a campfire?
Yes of course! What would camping be without a proper campfire? Not every campsite in East Sussex allows a campfire, but we do. You can build a campfire on the ground beside your pitch. We just ask you to observe our campfire rules, keep it a safe size and only burn untreated wood that does not contain nails.
Do you sell logs?
We sure do. You can expect to see the Log Man early evening, driving around the campsite in an Orange Landrover or Green pick-up truck – just give a wave and they’ll come over to you. Logs are also available at the kiosk or site office.
Pitches - are your pitches allocated?
At Park Farm we aim for a stress-free approach to camping. After all, you’ve come away to relax and have fun! We allow you to choose where you’d like to pitch up across all of our fields. This allows families to all pitch up together as well as allowing choice on things such as distance to the toilets or play area. However, electric hook ups have to be allocated.
Can I Kayak or Canoe on the River Rother?
Yes you can. The River Rother is a feature in East Sussex and runs right alongside Park Farm campsite. If you ask us at the check in kiosk we can advise you on the best places to get down to the water.
Can I fish on the River Rother?
Yes you can! (not allowed in the closed season, 15th March to 15th June, and when in season that the relevant rod and line licence is held by the person fishing). But remember to bring your own equipment, unfortunately we don’t have any to loan.
Can I walk to Bodiam Castle and the pub?
Yes you can. It’s an easy walk along the River Rother. It takes around 25 minutes. Just ask us at reception and we’ll happily point you in the right direction.
Can I charge my phone at the campsite?
We know how important it is to stay in touch when you’re away, that’s why we have now installed lockable phone charging cubicles by the reception. The rate is £1 coin per hour.
Do you freeze freezer blocks?
Absolutely. Another free service we provide East Sussex campers. Just bring your freezer blocks to reception in a plastic bag and we’ll do the rest!
What time can I arrive?
The latest you can arrive is 10pm for any of our pitch types. The earliest time that you can arrive is 10am unless you have booked an electric hook up in which case your pitch may not be available until 1pm. However, you may arrive earlier (from 10am) and doing so allows you to enjoy Park Farm facilities, have a quick snack at our on site kiosk, or browse the mini shop.
What time do I need to leave?
It’s always sad to say goodbye, but we ask that you vacate your pitch by 2pm, but if you have an electric pitch you must vacate the pitch by midday. This allows us to tidy up the campsite ready for our next arrivals.
Is there WIFI onsite?
We do have WIFI in areas of the campsite.
Can people come and visit us?
Yes absolutely. We just ask that visitors register on arrival and park in the car park by reception. There is a £5 charge for adult visitors and a £3 charge for children. Day visitors must leave the site by 10pm, or you can pay the full camping fee to stay the night.
Is it noisy at night with music and loud groups?
10pm is quiet time, at which time all music must be switched off and noise must be kept to a minimum. To help ensure people aren’t disturbed and everyone has a safe and enjoyable stay we have a security team that patrol the campsite at night. On registration at the campsite people sign an agreement to observe our Campsite Conditions. Breaches of the Conditions may lead to campers being asked to leave the site – this is to ensure enjoyment of other guests. Occasionally things do go wrong and people don’t follow the Campsite Conditions – where this happens we would kindly ask you to phone us at anytime on 01580 831982 so we can put things right.
Can I get a refund if I leave early?
We don’t issue refunds if you leave the campsite before the end of your stay. However we offer flexible nightly payments so you can pay per night to suit you. Likewise if you wish to stay longer then come and let us know and we will happily extend your stay!
What facilities are provided onsite?
Park Farm provide quite possibly the best range of facilities of any campsite in East Sussex, modern toilet and shower blocks, a children’s play area (with equipment suitable for all ages), we allow open campfires, log supplies, an on site Snack Bar and mini shop, and sometimes we organise a mini golf. There is a riverside walk to Bodiam Castle, the Castle Inn pub, and the East Sussex railway. We aim to provide campers with a happy and memorable stay!
Can I bring my dog?
Yes you may bring your dog (There is a small additional charge). All we ask is you keep them on a lead at all times in the camping fields and pick up after them. As we’re part of a working farm we’re lucky enough to have adjacent fields in which you can walk your dog off the lead.

Our preference is through the Contact Form on the website. Or, if you prefer, you can drop us an email to info@parkfarmcamping.co.uk. For a more personal approach telephone us on 01580 831982.
Is there a supermarket near Park Farm?
The campsite has a mini store on site for small incidentals; but for a larger shop there is a supermarket only a 10 minute drive away. Ask at reception for directions to Tesco or Waitrose in Hawkhurst and we’ll be happy to point you in the right direction.

Payment in full is required on arrival. We accept cash and card (but Diners Card and American Express are only accepted for online bookings).
